Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954)

This monster of a monster stands a whopping 26 inches tall! It is the largest model I have built and this version came via courtesy of Monsters in Motion. I thank Terry Fritton, proprietor, for letting me have ol’ Blackie here. Due to his large size the piece was put together in subassemblies. A modest amount of seam removal work was needed but due to the size these seemed to almost blend in with the texture of skin. There are many ways to paint the Creature from a simple version as seen in the films to a more complex version often repeated. I went the middle road and included some detail but not as much as in other versions. The large size of the piece more or less speaks for itself.
