Kong vs. Elasmosaurus, “King Kong” (1933)

 In Rare & Unusual

One of the amazing battle scenes from the 1933 King Kong film is when the great ape is fighting an elasmosaurus on Skull Island. The creature is wrapped around Kong who is trying to pull him off with a man watching the scene from behind a rock. The challenge was to correctly orient Kong’s arms holding the elasmosaurus head and tail with the creature’s body. Brass rods were used to hold the pieces in place. This 1/35th scale diorama was sculpted by Joe Laudati and released by Alternative Images Productions. All paints are acrylics.
