The Outer Limits “The Mice” Chromite

The Mice, an episode from the original TV series, The Outer Limits, featured the Chromite creature.  This 1/8th scale figure was originally sculpted by Greg Nicotero and released by Lunar Models.  The figure is hollow cast and very fragile.  The interior of the upper body was filled with expandable foam to provide support and strength.  The lower body, the legs, were filled with plaster-of-paris.  Each of the strands hanging from the body were ‘ribbed’ with wire to provide support to these very fragile pieces; lengths of wire were glued to the backs of each strand.  The hollow base was also filled with plaster-of-paris.  All paints are acrylics.
