Polywog

 In Universal

Jack Kevan, a makeup artist and sculptor with Universal Studios, had a hand in the design and manufacture of the Creature From the Black Lagoon.  He sculpted a maquette of an early creature design that was not used and courtesy of Mark Warthling we now have a life-size version of Kevan’s Polywog maquette.  It is interesting to note which features of the maquette, hands and feet, survived to the final image we know.  All pieces to the diorama, including the sculpting tools, are 3D printed.  All paints are acrylics.
