Lon of a Thousand Faces
Lon Chaney, Sr. was known as the “Man of a Thousand Faces”, due to his many film characters such as the Phantom of the Opera, London After Midnight, and A Blind Bargain, among many others. This 1/4th scale 3-D printed diorama was obtained at Wonderfest and is a spot on image of a photo of Chaney holding his makeup kit. The makeup kit here contains 50 separate pieces. Labels for 1920s theatrical makeup items were obtained from the Internet and placed on relevant kit items such as greasepaint sticks and putty containers. The mirror is reflective mylar. Each side of the base has raised relief images of some of Chaney’s characters. All paints are acrylics.
